Osteopaths are regulated by the General Osteopathic Council (www.osteopathy.org.uk).
They must demonstrate that they are safe and competent practitioners. They train for a minimum of four years and each year must participate in continuing professional development to maintain their registration.
As part of the regulations Osteopaths must also have a correct complaints procedure. If any concerns arise over the work of your osteopaths please feel free to discuss them with the osteopath concerned or Tanya Abbotson the principal osteopath in the practice. If this is not satisfactorily addressed then the General Osteopathic Council can be contacted on 020 7357 6655 or at the above website.
Osteopaths can also be members of the British Osteopathic Association which represents the profession to the public and works to raise understanding of what the profession is able to treat both amongst the public and relevant government agencies and political bodies.
They can be found at www.osteopathy.org
